T&A San Marino used a pair of three-run innings on Saturday evening to beat Montepaschi Grosseto 6-1, completing the sweep in the three-game series. Mattia Reginato capped the first rally with a two-run homerun, Lorenzo Avagnina the second with a two-run single. On the mound Tiago Da Silva (W) cruised through eight innings of scoreless two-hit ball. He struck out ten. Riccardo De Santis (L) issued six hits, three runs and a walk in seven innings.
Cariparma Parma – Telemarket Rimini 3-1

Cariparma Parma prevailed 3-1 over Telemarket Rimini on Saturday to win the rubber match of the series. A one-out two-run triple by Davide Dallospedale in the third and the following sac fly by Rodney Medina were enough for the defending champion to decide the outcome. The Pirates answered with a RBI single by Max De Biase, but it wasn’t enough, as pitching dominated the rest of the way. Roberto Corradini (W) allowed four hits, a run and two walks in seven innings. Sandy Patrone (L) conceded five hits, three runs and a bb in five innings.
North East Knights – Danesi Nettuno 3-6, 11-13

Danesi Nettuno won both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday in Verona to complete the sweep over the North East Knights. In game one four runs in the top of the eighth helped turning a 2-3 deficit into a 6-3 win. Giuseppe Mazzanti highlighted the rally with a two-run single. Mirco Caradonna also drove in two for Nettuno. Mirco Zambellan went 2-for-2 with a run and a RBI for the Knights. Jose Estebin Cruz (W) issued four hits, three runs (1 ER) and a walk in seven innings. Edgar Arismendi (GOD) gave up just one unearned run on three hits and three bb in six frames. Salomon Marinez (L) took the loss.

The evening game of the twin bill turned out to be a wild high-scoring affair. Nettuno took full advantage of seven errors by the opposing defense and erased deficits of 0-5, 4-9 and 8-11 to win 13-11 thanks to scoring five runs in the last two frames. Juan Camilo drove in three. Olmo Perez Rosario and Vinicio Sparanga scored thrice for Danesi. Godo-Verona’s Danilo Sanchez went 3-for-4 with two homeruns, four runs and five RBI. Terrence McClain scored three times and drove in two. Persichina collected four hits. Massimiliano Masin (W) got the win after 5 2/3 innings of relief after Carlos Richetti and Carlos Pezzullo had combined to allow nine runs in the first 3 1/3 innings. Peter Nyari (L) took the loss.
Novara United – Unipol Bologna 0-11 (8), 1-11 (8)

Unipol Bologna completed the sweep over Novara United with a pair of lopsided wins this weekend. After Saturday’s afternoon matinee got postponed to Sunday due to rain, Fortitudo scored six runs combined in the seventh and eighth to blow an 11-0 shutout wide open. Cody Cillo (W) and Yulman Ribeiro combined to allow just five hits in eight scoreless innings to lead the way. At the plate Juan Pablo Angrisano scored three times and drove in two. Mark Castellitto, Daniele Malengo and Marco Sabbatani collected two hits apiece. Antonio Noguera (L) was charged with five hits, five runs (4 ER) and four bb in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out seven.

In the make-up game on Sunday Unipol broke a 1-1 tie with a RBI double by Juan Carlos Infante in the top of the sixth and scored nine runs in the following two innings en route to an 11-1 rout in eight innings. Edgar Clemente hit a grand slam. Infante and Mark Castellitto added solo shots. Niccolo Milani drove in the lone Novara run. Fabio Betto (W) gave up five hits, a run and a walk in six innings. Alejandro Morese (L) issued seven hits, five runs and two bb in 6 1/3 innings.
