Dutch right-hander Rob Cordemans has to wait a little longer to claim sole possession of the all-time wins crown in the Hoofdklasse. Being tied with Bart Volkerijk with 150 wins, Cordemans lost a pitcher’s duel to DOOR Neptunus on Tuesday. Rotterdam won 1-0 thanks to a sixth-inning RBI single by Rafael Jozefa. Tim Roodenburg and Dushan Ruzic combined to hold L&D Amsterdam to nine hits and two walks in nine scoreless innings, denying the defending champion any run support. Cordemans finished with 12 strikeouts in eight innings, issuing one unearned run on four hits. It is his first loss in the Netherlands since April 2011.

Corendon Kinheim dispatched Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam 10-0 in seven frames. Mervin Gario, Dirk van’t Klooster and Quintin de Cuba scored twice. Roy Seltenrijch had three hits and a RBI. Sparta/Feyenoord managed just two hits against Luke Sommer and Steven van Groningen. Gregory Gustina took the loss.
UVV – Vaessen Pioniers 5-0
UVV shut out the Vaessen Pioniers 5-0. Jurjen van Zijl issued eight hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings, but kept the scoreboard without runs to pick up the win. Rodney Michel doubled twice to lead the offense. Zerzinho Croes had four hits for the Pioniers. Swen Huijer was charged with the loss.
