SAN MARINO scored nine runs in the last three frames to blow a close game against GODO wide open and won 12-5 in the end. Ulrich Snijders and Riccardo Suardi hit homeruns and drove in a combined six runs. Ardley Jansen went three-for-five with three runs scored. Lino Connell homered for DE ANGELIS. Tiago Da Silva impressed with seven brilliant innings, allowing just one hit and three walks, while striking out six. Brandon Camardese gave up three runs (1 ER) on six hits in five innings, getting the loss.
Cariparma Parma – Telemarket Rimini 6-11

RIMINI used a six-run rally in the top of the ninth to hold PARMA down 11-6. A RBI fielder’s choice by Filippo Crociati tied the contest at 6-6. Mario Chiarini regained the lead for TELEMARKET with a RBI single. The four remaining runs scored on a pair of errors, a RBI single by Ivanon Coffie and a balk call. Orlando Munoz had put CARIPARMA in front 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth with a two-run single. Lorenzo Avagnina (RIM) and Leonardo Zileri (PAR) homered earlier in the game. Starters Chris Di Roma (RIM) and Marco Grifantini (PAR) conceded four runs each in 5 1/3 innings, respective 4 2/3 innings. Buddy Bengel picked up the win. Mattia Salsi took the loss.
Danesi Nettuno – Fortitudo Bologna 2-4

BOLOGNA opened the match in NETTUNO with four runs and never looked back. They also wouldn’t score another time, but it was not necessary, as DANESI only was able to plate single runs in the fourth and ninth. Jesus Matos struck out seven in seven innings for the win. He gave up just one run on five hits and a walk. Jeff Farnsworth settled in after the rough beginning and struck out ten in seven innings. He issued four runs on eight hits and two bb.
Montepaschi Grosseto – Palfinger Reggio Emilia 6-4

GROSSETO scored five runs in the fifth to overcome a 0-3 deficit against REGGIO EMILIA en route to a 6-4 win. Jorge Nunez homered and drove in two. Francesco Casolari also picked up two RBI for MONTEPASCHI. Jake Willy Blalock had two RBI for PALFINGER. Pete Farina went three-for-five. Juan Figueroa received the win after 5 1/3 innings of relief. He had replaced James Vermilyea in the fourth. Abe Alvarez took the loss after 4 1/3 innings, six hits, five runs and a bb. He struck out six.
