Bas de Jong hit a two-run homerun to break up a 1-1 tie in the sixth and Zair Koeiman drove in two with double in the ninth, as L&D Amsterdam celebrated a 7-2 win in Almere on Tuesday in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Frank van Heijst (W) allowed just one run on eight hits and two walks in eight strong innings. Ewout Bos (L) took the loss in relief of Martin Kuipers, who had started the game for the Magpies.

DOOR Neptunus overcame a 0-2 deficit against Corendon Kinheim en route to a 6-2 win in game one the series between the top two teams in the league. It was the 23rd straight win for Neptunus. After RBIs by Niels van Weert and Rafael Jozefa had put Kinheim ahead after three innings, Rotterdam came back in the sixth, tying the game on consecutive RBI singles by Raily Legito and Danny Rombley. One frame later they took the lead thanks to a RBI single by Benjamin Dille and an error by left fielder Bryan Engelhardt. Two insurance runs in the ninth sealed the deal. Leon Boyd (W) gave up seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk in seven innings. David Bergman (KIN) allowed seven hits and two runs in five-plus innings. Nick Veltkamp took the loss.

Mr. Cocker HCAW scored eight runs in the third en route to a curfew-rule shortened 13-8 win over ADO. Michael Pluijmers and Dirimo Chavez combined for six hits, five runs and six RBI in nine trips to the plate. Quensley Bazoer went 4-for-5. Boudewijn van Elswijk hit a solo homerun and drove in four for ADO. Joran Klarenbeek (W) got the win in relief of Kevin Miner, who had issued ten hits, seven runs (3 ER) and a walk in 4 1/3 innings. Ludwin Obispo (L) surrendered eight unearned runs on ten hits and a bb in 2 2/3 innings.
Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam – Konica Minolta Pioniers 3-9

Konica Minolta Pioniers broke a 3-3 tie with a four-run sixth to beat Sparta/Feyenoord 9-3. Shurty Tremus (3-5, 2 runs, 2 RBI) started the rally with a two-run double. Mervin Gario, who also hit a homerun in the game, and Lennart Koster followed with RBI singles. Linoy Croes scored three times. Sape Wagenaar went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored for Rotterdam. Jurjen van Zijl (W) allowed six hits, three runs (1 ER) and a bb in 6 1/3 innings. Tim Roodenburg (L) surrendered twelve hits, seven runs (6 ER) and a walk in 5 1/3 innings.
