GROSSETO answered an early sac fly by Abraham Nunez with three runs between the second and third in a 3-1 victory over NETTUNO, avoiding the sweep in the three-game series. They tied it on a RBI groundout by Giacomo Falciani in the second. Jorge Nunez delivered the lead with a solo homerun in the third, before Andrea Sgnaolin sealed the win with a RBI single later that frame. Junior Oberto picked up the win after 5 2/3 innings, four hits, one run and three walks. He struck out six. Massimiliano Masin was charged with eight hits, three runs (2 ER) and two bb in six innings for the loss.
Palfinger Reggio Emilia – Telemarket Rimini 2-8

RIMINI scored six runs in the first two innings en route to an 8-2 win in REGGIO EMILIA. Mario Chiarini went two-for-four with four RBI. Jack Santora scored three times for the winner. Paul Macaluso hit a solo homerun for PALFINGER. Chris Di Roma earned the win, going six innings, while allowing two hits, one unearned run and three walks. Conrad Orman on the other side, lasted just 22 1/3 frames, after giving up four hits, six runs (5 ER) and four bb.
Palfinger Reggio Emilia – Telemarket Rimini 6-5

Two wild frames in the end decided the outcome between RIMINI and REGGIO EMILIA in the night cap of their Saturday doubleheader. PALFINGER prevailed 6-5 thanks to three runs in the bottom of the ninth. But back to where all began. The PIRATES had taken a 4-1 in the top of the eighth on a RBI single by Mario Chiarini and a two-run single by Eddie Rios. However REGGIO answered with a two-run double by Willie Jake Blalock in the bottom of the frame. In the top of the ninth Jack Santora extended the advantage for TELEMARKET again with a RBI single. In the bottom of the period, the promoted club loaded the bases with one out and Paul Macaluso tied the contest with a two-run single. After an intentional walk for Taber Lee, Blalock stepped to the plate and made them pay with a walk-off RBI single through the middle. Filippo Bertolini received the win, Ilo Bartolucci the loss.
T&A San Marino – Cariparma 4-8

After trailing 3-4 after six innings, PARMA put five runs on the board in the seventh to defeat SAN MARINO 8-4 on Saturday and 2-1 in the series. Luca Bertagnon brought the lead with a two-run double. Alex Sambucci, Leonardo Zileri and Orlando Munoz followed with RBI singles to cap the rally. Johnny Balentina scored three times. Max Di Biase had two RBI for last year’s champion. Brian Scarcella struck out three in 2 2/3 innings of relief to pick up the win. Pedro Orta took the loss. Starters Roberto Corradini (PAR) and Luca Martignoni (SMA) were solid thru 5 1/3 innings each.
De Angelis Godo – Fortitudo Bologna 5-7 (10)

A two-run homerun by Eddy Garabito in the top of the tenth saved BOLOGNA in a 7-5 victory in GODO. The guests overcame a 1-4 deficit in the bottom of the eighth through four runs on a two-run single by Lino Connell, a sac fly by Felix Escalona and a RBI single by Roberto Toniazzi. But it was not enough, as FORTITUDO tied the game in the top of the ninth on a sac fly by Stefano Landuzzi, forcing extra innings. Giuseppe Norrito received the win, after silencing DE ANGELIS in the last 2 2/3 frames. Roberto Cabalisti took the loss.
