ADO won its first game of the season on Thursday evening to start of week three in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. They beat the Magpies 3-2, after scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Michel Korzenieswki tied the contest with a RBI single before a groundball by Boudewijn van Elswijk caused an error by shortstop Mitchell Graham, allowing Koen Meershoek to score the winning run. Almere had taken a 2-1 lead through runs in the eighth and ninth. Ludwin Obispo (ADO) allowed six hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk in 8 1/3 innings. Justin Prinstein (ALM) issued two hits, a run and a walk in 6 1/3 innings. Tjibbe van Dijk picked up the win, Dennis Burgersdijk took the loss.
Corendon Kinheim – Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam 11-1 (7)

Kinheim used an eight-run rally in the bottom of the fourth to beat Sparta/Feyenoord 11-1 in seven innings. Remco Draijer had a bases clearing double in the frame. Jason Halman and Tjerk Smeets had big two-run hits. Every player out of the starting lineup scored at least a run. David Bergman (W) received the win after striking out ten batters in six innings, allowing one run on three hits. Jose Ventura (L) was charged with six hits, seven runs and four walks in three-plus innings.
L&D Amsterdam Pirates – Konica Minolta Pioniers 0-4

The Pioniers scored two runs apiece in the last two frames to down Amsterdam 4-0. A fielder’s choice groundball by pinch hitter Jeffery de Vrieze in combination with an error by third baseman Vince Rooi brought home the first run in the eighth. A hit by pitch against Jefferson Muzo with the bases loaded moments later doubled the score. Jakub Malik provided two insurance runs in the ninth with a double. Jurjen van Zijl (W) gave up just three hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings. Frank van Heijst (L) dominated and surrendered just one hit, two runs (1 ER) and two bb in 7 1/3 innings. A one-out double by Mervin Gario ended his no-hit bid in the eighth. Afterwards he lost the shutout and the game.
DOOR Neptunus – Mr. Cocker HCAW 8-1

DOOR Neptunus improved to 6-0 for the season with an 8-1 victory over Mr. Cocker HCAW. Four runs in the sixth blew a close game wide open. Dushan Ruzic (W) allowed just three hits and a walk in six scoreless innings for the win. Benjamin Dille and Danny Rombley drove in two runs each. Kevin Roovers (L) pitched four innings, giving up four hits, three runs and five bb.
