Gustavo Martinez (7 IP) and Justin Cicatello (2 IP) combined to allow just three hits and two walks to lead Cariparma to a 5-0 shutout on Sunday morning and the sweep over Nettuno. With the victory Parma moved into a tie for first place in the Italian Baseball League standings. Danesi dropped to 4-8 in sixth place.

Juan Camilo scored the first run of the game on a throwing error by catcher Vincent Parisi in the top of the second. A RBI groundout by Alex Sambucci and RBI single by Riccardo Bertagnon made it 3-0 in the fourth. A RBI single by Stefano De Simoni and a RBI double by Marco Yepez finalized the score in the seventh.

Former big leaguer Kris Wilson (L) took the loss, surrendering five hits and three runs (2 ER) in six solid innings. He struck out eight.

San Marino is also tied for first place after shutting out Rimini 5-0 on Sunday. A RBI single by Ulrich Snijders broke a scoreless tie in the seventh. Afterwards the Titans played some long ball. Carlos Duran and Ardley Jansen hit solo shots in the eighth, Duran a two-run homerun in the ninth to seal the win.

Gregory Palanzo (W) received the win after allowing just three hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (RIM) got the starting nod for the Pirates and was stellar in 5 2/3 innings, issuing just two hits and three walks, while striking out six. Chris Di Roma (L) replaced the left-hander and took the loss.
