NETTUNO scored seven runs in the first three frames en route to a 13-4 victory over GODO, completing the sweep on opening weekend in the Italian Baseball League. Ramon Tavarez led the attack with three hits, including a grand slam and five RBI. Manny Alexander scored four times. Juan Camilo and Giuseppe Mazzanti each drove in two. Lino Connell had a two-run double and a two-run single for DE ANGELIS. Carlos Richetti (NET) started and was perfect for 2 1/3 innings, before being replaced by Massimiliano Masin (W 1-0), who picked up the win with 4 2/3 innings of relief. Matteo Galeotti (L 0-1) gave up five hits, six runs (3 ER) and five bb in 2 2/3 innings.

RIMINI won also the third game in GROSSETO, scoring all twelve runs between the fourth and eighth frame in a 12-3 victory. Eddie Rios (3 Runs, 3 RBI) and Ivanon Coffie (3 Runs) homered for the PIRATES. Filippo Crociati added a three-run double, while Jack Santora drove in two. Jairo Ramos and Andrea Sgnaolin had a pair of solo shots for the ORIOLES. Sandy Patrone (W 1-0) gave up five hits, two runs and two walks in 5 1/3 innings, striking out seven. Junior Oberto (L 0-1) took the loss after 4 1/3 innings, three hits, five runs and five bb.
