An early three-run homerun by Ivanon Coffie decided the outcome between two favored Italian Baseball League teams. RIMINI won the first match in NETTUNO by a score of 3-1. After a strikeout against Lorenzo Avagnina to open the contest, Daniel Gonzalez and Mario Chiarini reached with one out on a single and a walk. Coffie stepped to the plate and sent a 1-1 offering of Jeffrey Farnsworth (L, 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 6 SO) over the fence in right field; his third homerun of the season. DANESI was able to cut the deficit to two runs with a RBI single by Giuseppe Mazzanti in the third, but couldn’t score again afterwards. Rafael Garcia (W) allowed just four hits, a run and three bb in six innings. Gustavo Martinez closed it out with five punch outs in three perfect innings.
Palfinger Reggio Emilia – De Angelis Godo 2-0

REGGIO EMILIA celebrated its first win of the season on Friday evening with a 2-0 shutout over GODO. Abe Alvarez allowed six hits and a walk in 5 2/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win. Taber Lee put them up in front with a RBI double in the first. Two frames later Liviston Santaniello, who already had scored the first run, crossed the plate again on a throwing error by second baseman Mattia Campanini. Emmanuel Ulloa took the loss after six innings, five hits, two runs (1 ER) and two bb.
Montepaschi Grosseto – Cariparma 2-6

CARIPARMA opened the game scoring three runs en route to a 6-2 win in GROSSETO. They added insurance runs in the fifth, seventh and ninth to seal the victory. The ORIOLES only was able to avoid the shutout with two runs in the seventh. Leonardo Zileri scored four runs in the game. Johnny Carvajal went three-for-four with a run scored and two RBI. Ricky Palma allowed just two runs (1 ER) on four hits and a walk in seven innings for the win. Juan Figueroa surrendered eight hits, five runs (2 ER) and two bb for the loss.
T&A San Marino – Fortitudo Bologna 2-3

BOLOGNA moved their record back to .500 with a 3-2 win in SAN MARINO. They took a 2-0 lead after six innings thanks to Eddy Garabito, who first drove in a run with a RBI single and later scored on a throwing error by catcher Randolph Kirindongo. T&A cut the deficit to a run in the eighth on a sac fly by Carlos Duran, but FORTITUDO regained the two-run advantage with a RBI single by Stefano Landuzzi in the top of the ninth. In the bottom of the frame SAN MARINO tried to come back and scored another run on a RBI single by Francesco Imperiali. But pinch hitter Riccardo Suardi struck out with the tying run on second to end the threat and the game. Yulman Ribeiro struck out seven in 7 1/3 solid innings for the win. Tiago Da Silva had nine strikeouts in six innings, but also gave up six hits and two runs (1 ER) for the loss.
