BARCELONA defeated NAVARRA 2-1 thanks to Emmanuel Febles, who drove in Albert Diaz with a triple and moments later scored the game winner on a wild pitch. The guests led 1-0 since the second frame after a RBI triple by Jamie Miro. Homer Baez (W 5-0) allowed just one run on eight hits, going the distance. He struck out eight. Juan Jose Lopez (L 0-4) gave up six hits, two runs and three bb in eight innings, striking out seven.
The second scheduled game between these two teams on Sunday was rained out.

The MARLINS pounded the ASTROS in two games on Saturday, winning both after seven innings through mercy rule. In the first match TENERIFE scored all ten runs between the second and fifth frame of a 10-0 shutout. Lesther Galvan, Jose Salazar and Victor Lopez each drove in two. Daniel Martinez went three-for-four with two doubles and three runs scored. Leslie Nacar (W 5-0) pitched six perfect innings for the win, striking out nine. Audie Nunez replaced him for the seventh, closing giving up two hits to end the no-hit bid. Norman Nelson Cowes (L 0-3) conceded nine runs on nine hits and five bb in 3 1/3 innings.

In the second part of the doubleheader PUERTO CRUZ scored seven runs in the seventh en route to an 11-1 win. Marco Gonzalez drove in three and scored twice. Daniel Sanchez tripled two times in four at bats. Richard Montiel, Jose Salazar and Nestor Perez each drove in two. Ivan Granados (W 4-0) gave up an unearned run on three hits in seven innings for the win. He struck out ten. Jorge Gomez (L 0-2) surrendered eight hits and four runs in five innings to take the loss.
El Llano – Halcones de Vigo 1-4, 4-5

HALCONES continued to impress in the Spanish Division de Honor last weekend. They won both games in Gijon and stay right behind the top three teams in the standings. In the first portion of the doubleheader VIGO took a fast 2-0 lead after three innings thanks to a RBI single by Michel San Gil and a RBI double by Juan Jose Lopez. They added two more runs till the end and won 4-1. EL LLANO only came through in the sixth on Juan Alonso’s RBI single. Roman Carrasco (W 1-0) picked up his first win this season, allowing just one run on six hits and a walk in six innings. He struck out eight. Juan De Leon (L 2-2) was responsible for nine hits, four runs (3 ER) und four bb in a complete game loss.

In the second match EL LLANO couldn’t hold on to a 4-1 lead after five innings and lost 4-5. HALCONES came back in the eighth, tying the contest through three runs. One frame later Franklin Tavarez drove in the game winner, completing the comeback. Juan Alonso had a two-run double for the home team. Tavarez also picked up the win on the mound, as he allowed just one hit in four innings of relief. Gabriel Camino was responsible to bring the decisive run on base, hitting the lone batter he faced with a pitch and was rewarded with the loss.
San Inazio Bilbao – CB Sant Boi 2-9, 3-12

SANT BOI moved into sole position for second place with two lopsided wins in BILBAO. Marc Carrillo probably had the best game of his life in the first part of the twin bill on Saturday. He went five-for-five with a homerun, two doubles, three runs scored and four RBI. He is now batting .415 (OBP .456/SLG .698) with three homeruns and 15 RBI this year. Rafael Rivas scored thrice. Dirimo Chavez had three hits for SAN INAZIO. Oscar Alvarez (W 4-2) struck out seven batters in seven innings to pick up the win. He allowed six hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk. Fidel Mane (L 2-1) conceded five runs on nine hits and two bb in six innings for the loss.

SAN INAZIO just had cut the deficit to 3-4 through three runs in the bottom of the six, when SANT BOI’s offense put six runs on the board in the top of the seventh to win the second game by a score of 12-3. Marc Carrillo homered again. Rafael Rivas and Yaeko Vazquez each drove in three. Four players scored twice. Carlos Vicario drove in all three BILBAO runs with a bases clearing double. Jose Cruz (W 6-0) allowed four hits, three runs and four bb in seven innings to capture his sixth win for the year. Alberto Magallon (L 3-2) gave up five hits, four runs (3 ER) and four walks in six innings, taking the loss.
CD Pamplona – CB Viladecans 6-14 (5)

VILADECANS pounded out 16 runs on 16 hits in a rain-shortened 16-5 win over PAMPLONA. Shortstop Oscar Angulo led the offense outburst with three hits, three runs and two RBI in three at bats. Pol Llopis and Miguel Catalan also collected three hits each. Carlos Del Burgo highlighted the CD rally in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run triple. Delio Martinez (W 3-0) struck out two in four no-hit, one-walk innings to pick up the win. Patrice Briones (L 1-2) was charged with nine hits, eight runs and two bb in three innings.
The second match was cancelled due to rain.
