Chris Copper (W) struck out eight in 6 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and two runs. Yovany D’Amico worked the last two-plus frames for the save. Gregory Palanzo took the loss, giving up seven hits, three runs and a walk in four innings.

The ORIOLES completed the sweep in the night cap of the doubleheader by scoring seven runs in the last three frames in a 7-0 shutout. Jairo Ramos had three this and drove in two. Jorge Nunez and Andrea Sgnaolin each scored twice, as GROSSETO connected for 15 hits in the match. Taber Lee had three for REGGIO. Junior Oberto (W) gave up six hits and two walks in six scoreless innings. Daustin Nielsen (L) surrendered eight hits, two runs (1 ER) and six bb in 6 2/3 innings.

BOLOGNA already led 5-0 going into the seventh, when they put seven more runs on the board to crush NETTUNO 12-0 in part one of the day-night doubleheader. It was the first loss of the season for DANESI. Eddy Garabito homered and drove in three. Giovanni Pantaleoni also had three RBIs, as Matthew Stocco and Juan Angrisano each brought two runs over the plate. Yulman Ribeiro (W) silenced the NETTUNO bats in seven innings, allowing just four hits and four walks in a complete game victory. Giovanni Carrara (L) took the loss, giving up seven hits, five runs (4 ER) and five bb in four innings.

After scoring seven runs in one inning in the afternoon, BOLOGNA topped this feat in the evening by scoring eight runs in the fourth in an 11-4 win over NETTUNO. Juan Carlos Infante, Giovanni Pantaleoni and Matthew Stocco each had three hits and two RBI for FORTITUDO. Manny Alexander, Juan Camilo and Giuseppe Mazzanti hit solo shots for DANESI. Fabio Betto (W) allowed six hits, four runs and three bb in five innings. Massimiliano Masin (L) was charged with ten hits, eleven runs (8 ER) and six walks in 3 2/3 innings.

GODO won a thriller on Saturday evening in SAN MARINO to win the first series of the season. They first blew an early 4-0 lead and later turned a 4-6 deficit around to win 7-6. They reduced the gap on a bases loaded walk by Francesco Fuzzi in the eighth and won the game on Danilo Sanchez two-run homerun in the top of the ninth. Francesco Imperiali went three-for-five with two RBI for the reigning IBL champion. Both starters struggled as Matteo Galeotti (GOD) allowed seven hits, five runs (2 ER) and two walks in 3 2/3 innings and Matteo Tonellato (SMA) conceded three hits, four runs and two bb in 1 2/3 innings. Roberto Cabalisti pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win, Pedro Orta took the loss.
Telemarket Rimini – Cariparma 5-2

RIMINI won the series against PARMA with a 5-2 victory on Saturday evening and moved into first place in the IBL standings with a 5-1 record. They took the lead in the third on a RBI single by Daniel Gonzalez and added insurance runs later on to seal the win. Eddie Rios hit two homeruns and drove in three for the PIRATES. Jhonny Carvajal and Riccardo Bertagnon drove in the runs for CARIPARMA. TELEMARKET starter Sandy Patrone (W) allowed six hits, a run and two bb in 6 2/3 innings. Roberto Corradini (L) gave up five hits, two runs and two walks in 5 2/3 innings.
