Telemarket Rimini won the series against T&A San Marino thanks to a 7-6 victory in the rubber match on Saturday evening. Laidel Chapelli’s RBI triple and run after wild pitch in the seventh became decisive in the end, as the Titans tried to come back from a 4-7 deficit as David Sheldon drove in a run in each of the last two frames. Starting pitchers Jim Brower (RIM) and Henry Bonilla (SMA, L) each lasted just 2 1/3 innings on the mound, allowing four (3 ER), respective five runs (4 ER) during their outings. Alex Serrano (W) picked up the win in relief.

UGF Bologna shut out Montepaschi Grosseto 10-0 in eight innings in the afternoon match of the doubleheader on Saturday. Fortitudo took full advantage of seven errors committed by the Orioles defense, which led to six unearned runs. Jairo Ramos and Riccardo Fornasari drove in two each. Joseph Mazzuca scored three times. Cody Cillo (W) allowed just two hits and a walk in six scoreless innings for the win. Chris Cooper (L) gave up four unearned runs on four hits in 3 1/3 innings.

In the evening game of the twin bill UGF Bologna erased a 0-5 deficit with seven runs in the bottom of the eighth en route to a 7-5 win over the O’s. Juan Carlos Infante and Joe Mazzuca did most of the damage during the big rally with a two-run single and a bases clearing double. Leonardo Mazzanti went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run and a RBI for Montepaschi Grosseto. Riccardo De Santis (GRO) conceded six hits, two runs and five bb in 7 1/3 innings. Fabio Betto (BOL) issued six hits, two runs and five walks in six innings. Fabio Milano (W) got the win, Lino Luciani (L) the loss.
Cariparma Parma – Danesi Nettuno 5-4

Cariparma Parma nearly blew a 5-0 lead in the 5-4 win over Danesi Nettuno on Saturday afternoon. Parma scored four runs in the fourth on a RBI single by Marco Yepez and a three-run double by Manuel Gasparri. Luca Scalera added the fifth run with a RBI single in the sixth. Nettuno kicked off a rally in the seventh, cutting the deficit to a run on two-run hits by Manny Alexander and Luis Perez. But with the Spanish outfielder at second, his national teammate Dewis Navarro grounded out to end the threat. Renzo Sanna went 4-for-4 for Danesi. Roberto Corradini (W) gave up nine hits, four runs (2 ER) and no walks in 6 2/3 innings. Carlos Richetti (L) was charged with six hits, five runs (4 ER) and five bb in six innings.
The evening game on Saturday between the two teams got rained out and was postponed until Sunday morning. But the weather didn’t get better and the third game of the series got canceled again. A make-up date has yet to be announced, but it could be June 29th.
De Angelis Godo Knights – Catania Warriors 19-9 (8), 12-0 (7)

The De Angelis Godo Knights completed the sweep over the Catania Warriors with a pair of lopsided wins on Saturday. In game one the Knights scored nine runs in the opening period en route to a 19-9 victory in eight innings. Gary Burnham Jr. went 3-for-6 with a homerun, three runs scored and six RBI. Francesco Fuzzi also homered and drove in four. Leadoff hitter Fabio Battaglini went 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored and two RBI. Weltin Cabrera (3-5, 5 RBI) and Perez Rosario (4-4, 3 runs, 2 RBI) hit homeruns for the Sicilian club. Reliever Pietro Briggi (W) received the win after being the only pitcher in the game not to allow a run. Orlando Yntema (L) lasted just for two outs on the mound to take the loss.

In the evening game Panagiotis Sikaras (W) gave up just two hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings to lead the Godo Knights to a 12-0 shutout and the sweep. The Warriors only managed hits in the sixth and the seventh. The offense of De Angelis again scored big in the first inning, putting eight runs on the board this time. Fabio Battaglini went 3-for-5 with five RBI. Carlos Villalobos and Federico Rubboli drove in two each. Franklyn Torres (L) issued seven hits, eight runs and a bb, while getting just two outs in the opening frame.
