Corendon Kinheim scored six runs in the third inning on its way to an 11-1 win against the Almere Magpies on Thursday evening in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Rafael Jozefa doubled twice, crossed the plate three times and drove in three to lead the offense of the Haarlem based club. Tjerk Smeets also picked up two RBI. David Bergman (W) allowed four hits, a run and two walks in seven innings. Justin Prinstein (L) issued six unearned runs on six hits and a bb in 2 2/3 innings.
ADO – L&D Amsterdam Pirates 1-2

L&D Amsterdam needed a RBI single by Bas de Jong in the top of the ninth to prevail 2-1 in The Hague against ADO. Bas de Jong already had provided an early 1-0 lead in the opening frame with a RBI triple. But the home team came back and tied the game in the fourth through a RBI groundout by Remco Seitzinger. Jos de Jong (AMS) struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings, allowing one unearned run on seven hits and two walks. Bobby Carrington (ADO) surrendered seven hits, a run and four bb in 7 2/3 innings. He struck out nine. Frank van Heijst (W) got the win, Jurrian Koks (L) the loss.
Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam – DOOR Neptunus 5-18 (8)

It looked like a game, which could go down to the final pitch. But DOOR Neptunus blew a 6-5 lead wide open by sending 16 batters to the plate in the eighth and scoring twelve runs to seal an 18-5 win over Sparta/Feyenoord. Eugene Kingsale went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, two runs and three RBI. Dwayne Kemp and Jeffrey Arends combined for four RBI. Martijn Meeuwis and Jeroen Sluijter picked up three runs each. Dushan Ruzic (W) struck out seven in five innings. He allowed five hits, four runs (2 ER) and four bb. Jose Ventura (L) conceded nine hits, six runs (4 ER) and five walks in seven innings.
Konica Minolta Pioniers – Mr. Cocker HCAW 3-2

In the series opener of the teams in third and fourth in the Hoofdklasse standings, the Pioniers struck first and prevailed 3-2 on Thursday against HCAW. A RBI single by Norbert Lokhorst in the bottom of the eighth put them over the top. Mr. Cocker had tied the contest on a Wuilliuans Vasquez RBI single in the in the top of the same frame. Moments earlier Konica Minolta took a 2-1 lead when Mark Duursma singled in Jakub Malik and Lennart Koster scored on a double play ground ball. Jurjen van Zijl (PIO) gave up seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk in 7 1/3 innings, striking out seven. Dave Draijer (W) picked up the win. Kevin Miner (L) surrendered four hits, three runs and a bb in eight innings.
