DOOR Neptunus didn’t waste any time to defend its clean slate in the Dutch Hoofdklasse on Saturday. The lone undefeated team in the Netherlands scored five runs in the first inning en route to an 11-4 win over HCAW. A pair of three-run frames in the sixth and seventh blew the game wide open. Raily Legito went 2-for-5 with a homerun, a double and four RBI. Martijn Meeuwis collected four hits. Eugene Kingsale scored three times. Diegomar Markwell (W) pitched five scoreless innings for the win, allowing just four hits. Kevin Miner (L) took the loss after five innings, ten hits, five runs and two bb.
Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam – Corendon Kinheim 3-10

Kinheim put eight runs on the board between the fourth and the sixth to blow a close game wide open, winning 10-3 against Sparta/Feyenoord in the end. Dirk van’t Klooster had four hits and three runs, while Bryan Engelhardt drove in four. Shurendell Borgschot doubled twice and picked up two RBI for Rotterdam. Duko Jansen (W) issued just an unearned run on four hits in six innings for the win. Gregory Gustina (L) surrendered eight hits, five runs (4 ER) and a walk in five innings.
Konica Minolta Pioniers – L&D Amsterdam Pirates 4-1

Eddie Aucoin (W) pitched eight strong innings to lead the Pioniers to a 4-1 win over L&D Amsterdam. He gave up just one run on four hits and a walk, while striking out five. The Pirates actually had the better start into the game, taking a 1-0 lead in the opening frame, when leadoff man Roeland Henrique Jr. tripled and scored on a groundout by Zair Koeiman. But Konica Minolta answered right away, scoring two runs in the bottom of the period through a RBI groundout by Norbert Lokhorst and a RBI single by De Flanegin. De Flanegin also sealed the deal with a two-run homerun in the eighth. Jos de Jong (L) was responsible for four hits, two runs and four bb in six innings.
Almere Magpies – ADO 3-2 (10)

The Magpies defeated ADO on Saturday evening 3-2 in ten innings thanks to a run by Mitchell Graham on a RBI fielder’s choice by Jurien Overman. The club from The Hague had loaded the bases intentional to create a double play situation, but even though they got the groundball they weren’t able to turn it. ADO had tied the contest with a RBI single by Boudewijn van Elswijk in the top of the eighth. Almere led since a two-run single by Jair Roseburg in the seventh. Sten van Bedem (ALM) conceded only one hit, an unearned run and two walks in seven innings. Bobby Carrington (ADO) struck out eight in 6 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit, two runs (1 ER) and five bb. Roy Beems received the win, Frans Richardson took the loss.
