BOLOGNA used a six-run third to defeat GROSSETO 11-1 in game two on Saturday. Juan Carlos Infante, Matt Stocco and Juan Angrisano combined for six RBI. Eddy Garabito and Richard Austin each scored twice. Yulman Ribeiro pitched the complete seven innings, allowing six hits, a run and a walk for the win. Chris Cooper took the loss, being charged with seven hits, seven runs (6 ER) and three bb in three innings.

FORTITUDO scored eleven runs again in the night cap to finish off the sweep against MONTEPASCHI. Matt Stocco hit a solo homerun. Eddy Garabito led the offense with four hits and four RBI. Juan Carlos Infante and Giovanni Pantaleoni scored three runs apiece. Jairo Ramos and Raul Marval drove in two each. Giuseppe Norrito got his first start this season, allowing eight hits, five runs and five bb in 5 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Junior Oberto went four-plus innings for the loss, giving up eight hits, seven runs (6 ER) and two walks.

RIMINI already led 2-0, when they scored six runs in the seventh to complete an 8-0 shutout over DE ANGELIS. Danny Gonzalez highlighted the rally with a grand slam. Filippo Crociati went four-for-four with three runs scored. Sandy Patrone struck out ten in seven scoreless innings to earn the win. He gave up six hits and a walk. Daniele Del Bianco conceded five hits, two runs (1 ER) and two bb to take the loss.

NETTUNO scored all eight runs of their 8-1 victory over SAN MARINO in the eighth frame. Abraham Nunez, Dewis Navarro and Ennio Retrosi drove in two each. T&A had led since the fifth frame and Carlos Duran’s RBI single. Starter Tiago Da Silva (SMA) had dominated with ten K’s in seven scoreless five-hit innings. But his bullpen, in which Mike Crudale took the loss, walked five in the decisive period give the win away. Giovanni Carrara (NET) was responsible for six hits, a run and four bb in 6 1/3 innings. Carlos Pezzullo got the win.

In game three on Saturday evening, NETTUNO put two runs on the board in each of the fourth and fifth en route to a 5-1 victory. Ennio Retrosi drove in two. Juan Camilo hit a solo shot. Giuseppe Mazzanti scored twice. Martin Vazquez had a homerun for SAN MARINO. Carlos Richetti gave up five hits, a run and two walks in six innings for the win. Luca Martignoni took the loss after 4 1/3 innings, seven hits, five runs (2 ER) and three bb.

In a wild game, which went back and forth until the end, PARMA prevailed thanks to a wild pitch by Francesco Corsaro in the bottom of the ninth, which allowed Stefano De Simoni to score his third run of the night. Moments later they tied the game on consecutive bases loaded walks by Alex Sambucci (3 RBI) and Michele Gerali. REGGIO had taken a 10-8 lead in the top of the frame through three runs after a RBI single by Claudio Biagini, a bases loaded walk by Luca Ferrua and a sac fly by Luca Tagliavini. But it was not enough. Paul Macaluso, Jack Blalock, Pete Farina (all three Reggio) and Sambucci homered in the slugfest.
