BOLOGNA overcame a 0-3 deficit after a Mario Chiarini homerun in the first to beat RIMINI 4-3 in the rubber game of the series on Saturday. Juan Carlos Infante delivered the game winner with a RBI walk off single in the bottom of the ninth. Juan Angrisano had tied the contest in the seventh with a solo homerun over the left field fence. Claudio Liverziani reduced the gap to a run in the bottom of the third with a two-run single. Fabio Betto (BOL) allowed five hits, three runs (2 ER) and a walk in six innings. Sandy Patrone (RIM) gave up six hits, three runs (2 ER) and two bb in six-plus innings. Fabio Milano picked up the win, Michele Quattrini took the loss.
T&A San Marino – Montepaschi Grosseto 3-4, 5-2

In game one of the Saturday doubleheader GROSSETO was able to erase a three-run gap after four innings and beat SAN MARINO 4-3 thanks to a two-run double by Jorge Nunez in the top of the ninth. T&A led 3-0 after RBIs by Ardley Jansen, David Sheldon and Simone Albanese. Tiago Da Silva (SMA) was in cruise control, allowing just two hits in five scoreless innings. He threw just 50 pitches before turning it over to the bullpen, which blew the lead. Chris Cooper (GRO) issued six hits and three runs (1 ER) in five innings too.

In the night cap of the twin bill SAN MARINO prevailed 5-2. Carlos Duran and Ardley Jansen did most of the damage with two-run homeruns in the third and eight frames. Luca Martignoni picked up the win after 5 1/3 innings, four hits, two runs (1 ER) and five bb. Junior Oberto took the loss surrendering five hits, three runs (2 ER) and two walks in 4 2/3 innings.
De Angelis Godo – Cariparma Parma 11-23

CARIPARMA won an ugly game 23-11 against GODO on Saturday evening. Nine errors by the guest defense, five by middle infielder Mattia Campanini, helped PARMA to win with a Football-like score. Laidel Chapelli went three-for-three with two walks, the lone homerun of the night, four runs scored and four RBI. Jhonny Carvajal also crossed the plate four times. Orlando Munoz drove in five, Leonardo Zileri four. Four players of DE ANGELIS also picked up two RBIs each. Brian Scarcella received the win for 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Daniele Del Bianco was charged with six hits, six runs (5 ER) and six bb in 3 1/3 innings for the loss.
Palfinger Reggio Emilia – Danesi Nettuno 4-10, 1-5

NETTUNO used a seven-run rally in the top of the ninth to beat REGGIO EMILIA 10-4 on Saturday afternoon. Giuseppe Mazzanti and Dewis Navarro combined for six RBI, four in the decisive frame. Manny Alexander and Juan Camilo each scored twice. Liviston Santaniello went four-for-five for PALFINGER. Giovanni Carrara (NET) allowed just two hits and a walk in five innings. Gregory Palanzo (EMI) gave up five hits, three runs (2 ER) and five bb in seven innings. Carlos Pezzullo received the win after Joel Hernandez had blown a 3-0 lead. Conrad Orman took the loss.

Carlos Richetti allowed just one run on four hits and two walks in seven innings to lead NETTUNO to a 5-1 victory on Saturday evening. He threw 61 of his 87 pitches for strikes and punched out five. Juan Camilo hit a solo homerun. Mirco Caradonna drove in two. Abraham Nunez went four-for-five with a run. Daustin Nielsen was responsible for five runs on 13 hits and a walk in five-plus innings for the loss. Filippo Bertolini replaced him in the sixth and conceded just one more base on balls in the remaining four frames.
