DOOR Neptunus took a 10-0 lead through four innings to crush the Almere Magpies 13-0 in seven innings on Friday evening. It was the 27th win in the 28th game this season in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Dwayne Kemp, Eldrion Regina and Danny Rombley scored three runs apiece. Roy Seltenrijch drove in four. Diegomar Markwell (W) issued seven hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings for the win. Justin Prinstein (L) surrendered four runs on five walks in one-plus innings.

L&A Amsterdam prevailed 4-3 on Friday in Bussum, solidifying third place in the standings with 17 wins in 30 games. Zair Koeiman and Sidney de Jong were the offensive heroes for the Pirates, each going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Mr. Cocker HCAW tried to come back after looking at a 1-4 deficit midway through the sixth, but only managed a run on throwing error in the sixth and a RBI double by Bart Sabel in the ninth. Jose de Jong (W) allowed five hits, two unearned runs and two bb in six innings. Kevin Miner (L) conceded eleven hits, four runs (2 ER) and a walk in seven innings.

The Konica Minolta Pioniers returned to the winning lane on Friday with a 4-1 victory over Corendon Kinheim. Eddie Aucoin (W) pitched eight strong innings, allowing just three hits, an unearned run and a walk. Mervin Gario broke a 1-1 tie with a RBI single in the sixth. Two more Pioniers players scored in the frame thanks to a fielding error by third baseman Rodney Michel. Nick Veltkamp (L) surrendered eight hits, four runs (2 ER) and three bb in 5 2/3 innings.

ADO celebrated an 8-4 win in Rotterdam on Friday evening, scoring all eight runs between the fourth and sixth. With the victory the club from The Hague cut the deficit in the standings towards Sparta/Feyenoord to a single game. Ludwin Obispo and Koen Meershoek went a combined 5-for-9 with three extra base hits, four runs scored and four RBI. Frans Richardson (W) allowed four hits, four runs and seven walks in six innings of relief, after starter Bobby Carrington only lasted one inning. Gregory Gustina (L) surrendered 17 hits, eight runs (6 ER) and a bb in nine innings.
