T&A San Marino barely stopped a comeback try by Montepaschi Grosseto to prevail 5-4 on Friday evening. After building up a 5-0 lead through six innings by the Titans, the Orioles rallied for four runs in the seventh to make things interesting. However with runners on first and second Alessandro Vaglio grounded out to end the rally. Tony Granato scored twice for San Marino. Carlos Duran drove in two. Jhonny Carvajal had two RBI for Grosseto. Ivan Granados (W) issued six hits and four walks in five scoreless innings. Chris Cooper (L) gave up five hits, four runs and three bb in five frames.
Novara United – Unipol Bologna 1-4

Edgar Clemente drove in three of the four runs in a 4-1 victory of Unipol Bologna over Novara United. Three runs in the third got them the lead. Joe Mazzuca scored twice. Jesus Matos (W) allowed five hits, an unearned run and a walk in six innings. Jean Toledo (L) conceded six hits, three runs and two bb in seven innings.
Cariparma Parma – Telemarket Rimini 4-6

After being pummeled in seven innings on their home field on Thursday, Telemarket Rimini got some payback one day later, edging out a 6-4 victory on the road over Cariparma Parma. A bases loaded walk by Max De Biase broke a 2-2 tie in the third, giving the Pirates the lead. Three combined runs in the seventh and eighth sealed the deal. Parma tried to come back in the ninth, but only managed RBI singles by Orlando Munoz and Riccardo Bertagnon, stranding two. Brian Chaves hit a two-run homerun for Rimini. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (W) allowed four hits, two runs and two bb in six innings. Mihai Burlea (L) surrendered six hits, three runs (1 ER) and two walks in five innings.
North East Knights – Danesi Nettuno 2-3 (11)

A wild pitch in the top of the eleventh helped Ennio Retrosi to score the winning run in a 3-2 victory by Danesi Nettuno over the North East Knights. Both teams had scored once in the tenth after Godo-Verona had tied the game on a Persichina RBI double in the eighth. On the mound Kris Wilson (NET) and Rodney Rodriguez (GOD) were locked in a pitcher’s duel. Wilson issued four hits in seven scoreless innings. Rodriguez conceded two hits, a run and two bb in eight frames, striking out ten. Remigio Leal (W) got the win, Emmanuel Ulloa (L) the loss.
