Italy has won the inaugural Italian Baseball League All Star Game. In front of an official attendance of 6,000 at the Steno Borghese Stadium in Nettuno, they defeated the selection of All Stars easily by a score of 12-4. They already had built up a 7-1 lead after three frames. Tony Granato led the way, going 4-for-6 with three runs and two RBI. Jairo Ramos Gizzi and Mark Castellitto collected two RBI apiece. Chris Cooper received the win after striking out the side in a scoreless fifth. Jesus Matos took the loss after allowing two runs (1 ER) on one hit in the first.
