Since a few weeks it already was clear that Randy Giorgiadis will leave the Brasschaat Braves. Although nothing is confirmed yet officially, it seems the destination of one of the best players in the Belgian First Division is known. He is going to join new champion Hoboken Pioneers for the 2010 season. Brasschaat barely missed out on the championship series and finished in third place in the final standings.
Giorgiadis is playing in the Belgian elite league since 1995, when he made his debut for the Antwerp Eagles. He later also played for the Namur Angels, Mortsel Stars and the Braves, where he had returned last winter. In 2009 the shortstop batted a third-best .393 (OBP .509/SLG .643) with seven homeruns (tied for 1st in league), one triple, twelve doubles, 44 runs scored (3rd) and 24 RBI. He was tied with his future teammate Steven De Lannoy for the league-lead in Total Bases (90).
