Posted on February 21, 2008February 21, 2008 by philipp

Randy BARBER will be taking over as the new manager of Technika Brno in the Czech Extraleague. BARBER is not new to Technika or the Czech Extraleague, serving as Stan LUKETICH’s assistant on the 1995 Czech Men’s National team, as well as coaching the 1996 Czech Junior National team and the 1996 Technika men’s team.

BARBER has spent most of his career in Arizona high school baseball, most recently as an assistant with Stan LUKETICH at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix. BARBER has coached with the Alaska Goldpanners in the Alaska League as well.

Joining BARBER with Technika Brno will be Jon DOBYNS, who will be serving as a player coach. DOBYNS played high school baseball for LUKETICH at Desert Vista, junior college ball at Chandler-Gilbert in Arizona (2001-2) and college ball at Armstrong Atlantic in Georgia in 2003-2004. DOBYNS was a member of US Goodwill team that played in Beijing in 2002 and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2004, playing two years in their farm system. He has spent the last two years as an assistant coach with Coach LUKETICH at Desert Vista High School. DOBYNS will pitch, play some 1B and DH.
