Rogier van Zon of the Dutch website Honkbalsite.com reported this weekend that six professional players already have committed to play for Team Netherlands in the upcoming Baseball World Cup. Former Major Leaguer Randall Simon, who played for Holland in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, will come to Europe as well as pitchers Leon Boyd, Dennis Neuman, Alexander Smit and Tom Stuifbergen, and shortstop Hainley Statia. Simon is expected to arrive this week. The other five will make the trip at the beginning of September. Head coach Rod Delmonico has to submit his final roster by Sunday. Until the start of the Baseball World Cup they can make up to five changes.
