The Vienna Wanderers opened the Qualifier European Cup in Montpellier with a 9-1 win over Stockholm. Husty and Loschy had two RBI apiece. Christian Tomsich (W) struck out eleven in seven strong innings, allowing just one unearned run on three hits and two walks. Jakob Claesson (L) issued eleven hits, six runs (2 ER) and four bb in six innings.
White Sharks Almada – Montpellier Barracudas 4-19 (6)
Host Montpellier Barracudas scored seven runs in the first and six in the fifth en route to a 19-4 victory over the White Sharks Almada. Zuaznabar and Mayeur scored four runs apiece. Nine players of Montpellier picked up hits. Beverly Reverbel (W) received the win, Rui Lopez (L) the loss.
