On Thursday the Italian Baseball League opens its gates for the 2010 season with a game between defending champion UGF Assicurazioni Fortitudo Bologna and the De Angelis Godo Knights. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by the head coach of Bologna’s Serie A soccer club Franco Colomba. The opening game is scheduled to start at 9pm CET and will be broadcasted via Rai Sport.
Other matchups on the first weekend of the season include Cariparma Parma against T&A San Marino, Montepaschi Grosseto versus Telemarket Rimini and Danesi Nettuno hosting the Catania Warriors. Riccardo Schiroli provided readers from Mister-Baseball.com with a preview on Tuesday.
