On Tuesday a settlement was reached between Major League Baseball, Comcast and Direct TV and a group of fans, which sued MLB and its partners that they violated federal antitrust law with the usage of blackouts to limit out-of-market broadcasts within North America. While the lawsuit didn’t have international ramifications, the settlement still could have an influence on the price of MLB.TV worldwide. While prices for 2016 packages haven’t been announced yet, the settlement includes a clause, which reduces the prices for MLB.TV in the United States to $85 for single-team options respective $110 for the full package. It’s a 35-percent discount compared to last year’s price plan. As a lot of baseball fans in Europe use MLB.TV this could be good news.
