President, Board Members of French Federation resigns

Posted on February 1, 2010 by philipp

On Saturday the steering committee of the French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBSC) was supposed to discuss important matters for the upcoming season, including the format for the Elite and Nationale 1 leagues. However the attending members didn’t even get the opportunity since the meeting was over after the first item according to a first report by Bafinfos.com, which was later confirmed by a statement on the federation website.

Usually a formality, the steering committee rejected the minutes of the last meeting (seven for no, si for yes), which was held in November. As consequence and after 20-minute long considerations five of the six members of the Executive Board resigned from their respective posts and the steering committee, FFBSC President Denis-Didier Rousseau, Secretary General Michel Dussart, Vice President Mady Bissey, Assistant Secretary General Michèle Picard Dufour and Treasurer Dominique Magnin.

The responsible Secretary of State for Sports in France decided on Monday that the remaining members of the committee are going to run current issues until a new Executive Board is elected. A date for new elections is expected to be announced this week.
