The new month has started and the Belgian club NAMUR ANGELS welcomes new members to their team. Due to visa regulations starting pitcher Zachery Potter and infielder Henry Perkins left the 1st Division on June 30th. They will replaced by Todd Emr and Brian Hurld.
Emr is an infielder, who attended John Hopkins University. He set a team record with 94 hits in 2008. Fun fact: In an interview with his school’s website he already mentioned the ANGELS as his favorite team. Hurld is a left-handed pitcher from South Boston, Massachusetts, who is coming from Roger Williams University. He had a 6-1 record with an ERA of 2.17 in 54 innings pitched this spring and was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference pitcher of the year in 2008.
Additionally the team of head coach Chris Dassy added British National Team infielder Jason Holowaty from the French club MONTIGNY COUGARS to the roster for the remaining season. The manager of game development for Major League Baseball in Europe already joined the club last weekend for their two-game series against the MORTSEL STARS.
