Play Global is sending two expert coaches to Delhi in early February. They will work with local organization Grand Slam Baseball to train its up-and-coming coaches. Grand Slam Baseball is a fast-growing organization that runs baseball teams for boys, girls and adults in this city of nearly 10 million. Like Play Global, GSB brings kids and cultures together through baseball.
During the week-long clinic, Play Global coaches Zach Graefser and Andy Berglund will teach positive coaching, baseball safety and practice planning. After morning instruction, the coaches-in-training will apply their new skills in afternoon sessions with players. The clinic will start a year of ongoing coach education led by Play Global.
Coaches Graefser and Berglund have a wealth of experience to share from their years of coaching in the US and abroad.
“‘Andy and I are hoping to help out in as many ways as we can in the development of coaches in India as the number of players increases. Hopefully we can help set an infrastructure for coach development and training that will allow Grandslam to have enough skilled coaches to keep growing and developing the game in India.”
