Pittsburgh Pirates sign Danny Arribas

The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) announced on Monday that the Pittsburgh Pirates have reached an agreement over a minor league contract with Danny Arribas of PSV Eindhoven. He first impressed Pirates scouts Martijn Nijhof and Tom Randolph during MLB’s tryout in Haarlem a few weeks ago and confirmed his abilities during another tryout in the Dominican Republic. In 2009 and 2010 Arribas was a member of the Dutch Junior National Team and played in the IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship in Canada last summer.
