The Bonn Capitals remain the most active German Baseball-Bundesliga team in the offseason so far. On Saturday the club announced that they have added utility man Philipp Spade to the 2011 roster. The 27-year-old is coming from the Pulheim Gophers, where he played since the beginning of his career. Since making his debut in the Baseball-Bundesliga in 2001 he has a .268 batting average (OBP .388/SLG .351) in 111 games at the top level in German Baseball. He also has an ERA of 9.64 with 65 strikeouts and 122 walks in 97 innings. In 2010 he batted .322/.441/.400 with eleven runs and 15 RBI in 25 games.
