The De Angelis Godo Knights have signed the member of the Swedish National Team, Peter Johannessen. The 25-year-old outfielder began his career in the Elitserien in Leksand in 2003 before joining Stockholm in 2006, where he played since.
Johannessen won the national championship in the past two years and is going to be eligible to play in both divisions of the Italian Baseball League. In 2009 he batted .441 (OBP .568/SLG .666) with two homeruns, three triples, eleven doubles, 32 runs and 31 RBI for Stockholm. During the Baseball World Cup last September he picked up three hits in eleven at-bats, including a homerun.
The Godo Knights also finally will have Panagiotis Sikaras back in the fold, as the American with Greek passport arrives this week, right in time to pitch in game two of this weekend’s matchup against Montepaschi Grosseto.
