The PATERNO WARRIORS have secured a spot in the 2010 campaign of the Italian Baseball League by winning the decisive game five 11-10 in twelve innings against ASD ANZIO BC on Sunday. They split the first four games of the series.
(2-1) Paternò Warriors – ASD Anzio BC 8-5

Edson Piovan and Francesco Aluffi combined for four RBI and Nelwin Sforza hit a solo homerun in an 8-5 win by PATERNO in game three. Franklyn Torres went the distance on the mound, allowing nine hits, five runs and five bb. He struck out six. Valerio Roda took the loss, issuing ten hits, four runs and two walks in two-plus innings. Nestore Morville drove in two for ANZIO.

In the fourth match Fraylin Florian struck out ten batters in a complete game win to lead ANZIO to a 6-3 victory and the tie in the series. He surrendered eight hits, three runs and two bb. Enzo Sanna went four-for-four with two RBI. Daniele Santolupo collected three hits and two runs. Giuseppe Sciacca had three hits for the WARRIORS. Jose Quintero gave up twelve hits, four runs and a walk in 7 2/3 innings for the loss.

A walk off RBI single by Mario Pesce in the twelfth lifted the WARRIORS to an 11-10 win and into the Italian Baseball League. The game went back and forth until the end. ANZIO overcame a 0-4 deficit with a seven-run rally in the sixth, but PATERNO came right back to tie it. In the end both starters of Saturday were again on the mound with Franklyn Torres picking up the win. Fraylin Florian took the loss. Weltin Cabrera and Pesce homered for the WARRIORS. Vincenzo D’Addio had four hits, two runs and three RBI for ANZIO.
