Parma takes game one against Rimini

CARIPARMA scored early and hold on to a slim lead in the end to win 5-4 at RIMINI. They scored five runs in the first two frames for a 5-1 advantage, highlighted by Leonardo Zileri’s two-run double in the second. Adolfo Gomez scored twice. Mario Chiarini brought TELEMARKET back in reach with a three-run homerun in the sixth to cut the deficit to a run. But PARMA closer Josmir Romero came in and shut the door with two one-hit innings of relief.

Mercado received the win, pitching seven innings, while allowing six hits, four runs and two base on balls. He struck out six. Matt Beech was chased from the mound after two periods, giving up five hits, five runs and five walks. He also had four strikeouts. Gustavo Martinez replaced him in the third and closed out the game with seven strong innings. He gave up just three hits and two bb, striking out nine.
