Godo Knights
Despite rumors that the right-handed pitcher Panagiotis Sikaras might join a different team, the Godo Knights were able to extend the contract with the American with a Greek passport. The 31-year-old was born in Chicago, Illinois has pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies organizations as well as independent league teams in Gary and Edmonton in the past ten years. He had a 2-0 record with an ERA of 2.25 in eight appearances for Godo in 2009. He struck out 37 batters in 28 innings, walking eight.
Montepaschi Grosseto
Baseball.it already reported at the beginning of February that Leonardo Mazzanti would leave Danesi Nettuno to join Montepaschi Grosseto. This weekend the Orioles made the acquisition official. After making his Italian Baseball League debut for Anzio during the 1993 season, the 36-year-old outfielder solely played for Nettuno since 1995. He has a career batting average of .283 (OBP .365/SLG .413) in 653 IBL games. Grosseto is currently also trying out Roberto Camejo Fernandez, a Cuban first baseman with Spanish passport.
