Back in the Italian Baseball League, Palfinger Reggio Emilia has brought in its first new player. It is the 22-year-old Venezuelan shortstop Erick Epifano. He is coming from the Godo Knights, which used him in IBL and IBL2 this past season. He led Piacenza by batting .371/.405/.524 with four triples, eight doubles, 24 runs and 12 RBI in 26 games (24 starts). With Godo he had three starts, collecting six hits in 11 at bats. Prior to coming to Italy, Epifano was with the Atlanta Braves organization, spending four seasons in the Dominican Summer League. During his professional career he went .284/.368/.339 in 131 games.
