Palfinger Reggio Emilia adds LHP Josh Rickards

Palfinger Reggio Emilia, which is playing in the Serie A of the Federal Championship in Italian Baseball, has added left-handed pitcher Josh Rickards to fill the role as foreign pitcher. The 24-year-old from Upland, Pennsylvania attended Marist College before coming to Europe last year. He wore the jersey of the Solingen Alligators in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. He was named best pitcher in the northern division by going 9-2 with a league-leading ERA of 1.21 in 13 starts. He struck out 101 batters in 82 innings, allowing just 43 hits and walking 36. Reggio Emilia had added reliever Mattia Salsi last week.
