The ORKAS ended their losing streak in the Liga Paralela with a combined one-hitter against LEONES. Alexis Fumero (W 3-2), Josen Suarez, Jesus Perez and Yorby Marcano (S 3) held the CARACAS offense down and led the ALB to a 4-1 victory. Starter Fumero gave up just one hit, a run and two walks in five innings, while striking out two. The other three pitchers allowed just two more base runners on walks and completed the feat.
The offense delivered the necessary run support right at the beginning of the match, building a 3-1 lead after three innings. They added an insurance run in the seventh to seal the win. Emilio Linarez and Bryon Bell each drove in a run. Both are now tied for second in the team ranking with 19 RBIs. Gabriel Montero, who was one for four on Wednesday, leads the club with 22. David Rivas scored twice against LEONES. Pinch hitter Daniel Bittar singled and came around to score in the seventh.
