After starting 1-3 the French National Team won the last four games at the Open de Rouen and won the International Tournament in preparation for the upcoming European Championship. On Friday they celebrated 1-0 and 11-0 shutouts against the All-Stars and Saint Martin. On Saturday and Sunday they beat these teams again, this time by scores of 5-2 and 9-1. The All-Stars finished in second place in the final standings with the same 5-3 record. Saint Martin took third with two wins in eight games.
Award-wise the All-Stars picked up all three trophies. Jordan Pennington of the Montpellier Barracudas was named MVP, Justin Fry (1-0, ERA 0.00, 9 IP, 5 H, BB, 17 SO) of the Montigny Cougars best pitcher, Stanton Hoover (.476/.571/.714, 10-21) best batter. The French National Team was led offensive-wise by Maxime Lefevre and Florian Peyrichou who went a combined 13-for-33. The pitching staff, with Samuel Meurant and Anthony Piquet taking most of the work-load with 17 innings, had an ERA of 1.27 with 27 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings, while walking nine. The Homerun Derby on Saturday was won by David Gauthier, who went deep seven times.
