The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe made it official on Monday what Mister-Baseball.com reported a couple of weeks ago. Left-handed pitcher Luke Sommer is joining the German Baseball-Bundesliga club. He will already be on the roster for their matchup against the Mannheim Tornados next weekend. The 27-year-old, who pitched for Corendon Kinheim in the Dutch Hoofdklasse and for the German National Team in last September’s tournaments, didn’t make the team with the Detroit Tigers in Spring Training. The former Triple-A Minor Leaguer with the Chicago Cubs is supposed to help Heidenheim on the mound and at the plate.
