Novara Baseball
The new Italian Baseball League team Novara Baseball held a press conference to introduce the team for the upcoming season. It will be managed by Jay Palma and led by veterans Robert Perez and Renny Duarte on the field. Duarte also is going to be the pitching coach. Several other players who played for Senago United last year will accompany him to Novara including Sergio Tardivo, Luca Marzullo, Diago Silva, Niccolo Milani and Francesco Banfi. From outside the United Franchise are coming Antonio Noguera (Marlins Puerto Cruz), Raffaele Medoro (Catania Warriors) and Mike Manges (Rajo Rho). They certainly know that they won’t be able to win the championship, but hope to field a competitive team in 2011.
UGF Fortitudo Bologna
It is probably not common around Europe that a Baseball team has to help a Soccer team financially. But this is what Fortitudo Bologna is doing, although the amount of the money has a symbolic character. They are donating €1,000 to support the efforts to save Bologna FC 1909.
