The North East Knights have added three pitchers to the roster for the 2012 season in the Italian Baseball League. The 29-year-old Michele Coppi and the 27-year-old Massimiliano Geri are coming from within Italy. Coppi pitched for Collecchio in 2011 in the Serie A of the Federal Championship, Geri for Castenaso in the franchise of Fortitudo Bologna. Both will be used as relievers.
The third new hurlers is Ruderly Manuel from the Netherlands Antilles. The 21-year-old right-hander was with Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam last year. He was their number-two starter behind Bobby Carrington thanks to a 4-5 record with an ERA of 3.70 in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. He struck out 47 batters in 65 2/3 innings, walking 28.
