The CARDINALS swept the doubleheader against their local rivals in Bonn for the first time in five years. They used a ten-run third in game one to beat the CAPITALS 14-8. Not even a triple play in the fourth helped BONN. Taishi Nakamura got four hits, Sascha Steffens and Jens Warrelmann each three. Marcel Kujau, who had relieved starter Pascal Raab in the first, received the win. Mirko Heid had another dismal start and took the loss for BONN.
Was the first match already entertaining, the second topped it. The contest went back and forth in the early goings with COLOGNE taking an 8-4 lead in the fourth. But the CAPITALS came back and tied it in the seventh on the fourth hit of shortstop Lennart Weller. The game went into extra-innings and Nakamura (another four hits in the game) scored the winning run on a hit by Warrelmann in the eleventh period. Ryo Kagami (W 1-0) and Martin Amparo (L 1-1) both went the distance.
Hanover Regents - Paderborn Untouchables 1-10, 1-9
With their new Hawaiian acquisitions Cy Donald and Gavin Ng aboard, the UNTOUCHABLES crushed the REGENTS twice and returned home with a sweep. Both had contributions in the two victories, with Donald hitting a homerun in the second part of the doubleheader.
Eugen Heilmann und Daniel Hinz received the wins. Benjamin Berning and Mike Lantzy were not able to stop the PADERBORN offense and each took a loss.

The ALLIGATORS got two shutout wins on Sunday. Andre Hughes stifled the NIGHTMARES with seven scoreless innings and received his second victory of the season. They scored fast and led 5-0 after two frames through hits of Kai Gronauer, Christian Nsien, Dustin Hughes and Florian Goetze. Derek Malikian scored the sixth run in the fourth on a double by Moritz Buttgereit. Hendrik Tschuschke took the loss.
The second part of the doubleheader was not that lopsided than the score indicates. SOLINGEN didn’t score until the seventh and blew the game open with a six-run spot in the eighth. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez and Sergej Heinrich were locked in a pitchers duel. Marquez-Ramirez struck out eleven in a one-hit complete game. He allowed just five baserunners. Heinrich already had a brief relief appearance early the day and matched the German national team ace for the first six periods. Catcher Gronauer, who said farewell to his home team, smacked two triples and drove in two. Patrick Kanthak hit a three-run-double.
HSV Stealers - Dortmund Wanderers 11-0, 2-10

The attendance in Hamburg saw two lopsided wins with different outcomes. The STEALERS crushed DORTMUND in game one, scoring eleven runs in the first six frames. Marcel Brede pitched six innings for the win. Michael Kaber was relieved midway through the STEALERS six-run second and took the loss. Peter Jon Frates hit a homerun for the HSV.
The second match saw the debut of Matt Kemp for the WANDERERS. He gave up two runs on three hits in the first, but settled in afterwards and celebrated a successful debut of seven innings of two-run ball. DORMTUND rallied in the third for three runs and continued smashing the pitches of STEALERS starter Thomas Haugh. They added seven runs in the last three periods to win their first game this season. Josh Lively hit a two-run homerun.
