Nettuno sweeps series versus Godo with walk-off wins

GROSSETO used a nine-run fourth to beat the RANGERS 11-1 on Saturday afternoon. Kelly Ramos and Andrea De Santis each drove in two. Jorge Nunez and Lorenzo Avagnina each scored twice after reaching a combined eight times.
Yovany D’Amico allowed two hits, one run and one walk in five innings. He struck seven in the win. Diego Zorzenon gave up seven runs on six hits and five base on balls in three-plus innings.

The second part of the doubleheader started with a bang. Both teams combined for eleven runs in the first frame with REDIPUGLIA taken a 6-5 lead. However MONTEPASCHI answered with two runs in the second to take the lead for good. They added a bunch of insurance runs and stopped a RANGERS rally in the eighth.
Lorenzo Avagnina, Jairo Ramos (4 RBI) and Antony Caracciolo each hit a ball out of the ballpark for GROSSETO. Andrea Sgnaolin drove in three. Luca Bischeri scored three times. Steven Baldinelli and Lizahio Baez had two RBIs apiece for the home team.
Both starters struggled. Andrea Lucati (GRO) allowed six hits, six runs and three bb in the first and was replaced with the start of the second. Andrea Cossar (RED) took the loss after giving up nine hits, eight runs (6 ER) and two walks in five innings. Luca Panerati received the win.
T&A San Marino – Fortitudo Bologna 1-12

BOLOGNA got revenge for the extra inning loss in the series opener. They crushed SAN MARINO 12-1. Francesco Alaimo was three-for-five with two runs scored and four RBI. Stefano Landuzzi scored three times. Diego Bonci and Claudio Liverziani also had each three hits for FORTITUDO. Max Di Biase had four hits in four at bats for T&A.
Cody Cillo struck out eight in seven innings for the win. He allowed seven hits and one run. Tiago Silva was charged with nine hits, six runs and two bb in four innings.
T&A San Marino – Fortitudo Bologna 7-13

SAN MARINO had the better start into the match, but BOLOGNA scored ten runs between the fourth and the sixth to take a commanding lead on their way to a 13-7 victory. Claudio Liverziani hit a homerun, scored five times and drove in three. Richard Austin reached base five times and scored three runs. Joseph Mazzuca got three RBI. Francesco Imperali and James Buccheri hit homeruns for the host. Davide Colicchio had three hits.
Fabio Betto (BOL) overcame a struggling start for the win and allowed three runs on seven hits in five innings. Matteo Tonellato (SMA) gave up six hits and five runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Cariparma – Telemarket Rimini 2-6

Juan Melo homered and drove in two runs, as RIMINI won 6-2 on the road. They built up a 3-0 lead after two periods and scored in each of the last three. The PARMA offense rallied for two runs in the ninth, but it was too little, too late.
Buddy Bengel was on his way to a complete game, but lost is rhythm in the ninth. He allowed five hits, one run and three bb in eight-plus innings, striking out six. Michael Jared Natale gave up eight hits, four runs and four walks in seven innings.
Cariparma – Telemarket Rimini 6-9

CARIPARMA overcame a 0-3 deficit and led 6-3 after two. But TELEMARKET came back. They cut the deficit to two runs in the sixth and rallied for five in the eighth for a final score of 9-6.
Amaury Garcia had three hits, scored three times and drove in three. Juan Melo had two RBI. Filippo Crociati scored twice. Riccardo Bertagnon drove in two for PARMA. Ettore Finetti was one-for-four with a run and a RBI.
Sandy Patrone (RIM) gave up five hits, six runs (5 ER) and three bb in 1 2/3 innings. Roberto Corradini (PAR) allowed six hits, four runs (3 ER) and two walks in seven innings. Michele Quattrini received the win for 7 1/3 impressive relief innings (2 H, 1 BB, 6 SO). Mattia Salsi took the loss.
Danesi Nettuno – De Angelis Godo 8-7

NETTUNO prevailed in a wild game, in which both teams scored a combined nine runs in the ninth. GODO had started the final frame with four runs through an error, a RBI single by Mike Lockwood and a two-run single by Danilo Sanchez. But DANESI had an answer left. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth Juan Camilo started the damage with a RBI single. Giuseppe Mazzanti and Ramon Tavarez followed with RBI singles. Luis Ugueto walked to load the bases and Vincent Parisi ended the game with a two-run walk off single.
Giovanni Carrara allowed five hits, three runs and two walks in six innings. Matteo Galeotti gave up four hits, three runs (2 ER) and three bb in four. Victor Arias received the win, despite giving up four unearned runs on eight hits in three innings of relief. Matthew Agostinelli took the loss.
Danesi Nettuno – De Angelis Godo 3-2

The second part of the doubleheader was a low scoring affair, though with a thrilling end as well. GODO had take a 2-0 lead in the fifth on a RBI single by Robert De Franceschi and a hit by pitch against David Skrehot with the bases loaded. NETTUNO countered with a two-run single by Andrea Castri’ in the seventh and won it through Giuseppe Mazzanti’s RBI walk off single in the ninth.
Carlos Richetti struck out twelve in nine innings for the win. He allowed just four hits, two runs and two walks in the complete game. Lino Luciani started for DE ANGELIS and gave up three hits, two runs (1 ER) and four walks in six-plus innings. Daniele Del Bianco took the loss.
