Nettuno stops Fortitudo streak but drops 2 of 3

Ramon Tavarez’ RBI single in the top of the 17th frame stopped the winning streak of FORTITUDO BOLOGNA. DANESI failed to convert a few scoring chances, but came through in the end anyway.

Their pitching was impressive over the course of the whole game. Giovanni Carrara threw seven perfect innings to start the contest, while striking out none. Massimiliano Masin got the win after 5 1/3 two-hit innings of relief. The three hurlers of NETTUNO combined for just two strikeouts.

FORTITUDO starter Cody Cillo struck out nine in seven innings. He gave up two hits and three walks. Fabio Milano took the loss.

BOLOGNA got back on track on Saturday evening. They took a 3-1 lead in the third and build up the advantage afterwards to win 7-2. Lino Connell, Juan Angrisano and Manuel Gasparri each drove in two runners. Richard Austin scored three times. DANESI’s Giuseppe Mazzanti was three-for-four with a run and a RBI.

Fabio Betto pitched eight solid innings for the win. Carlos Richetti was charged with four hits, four runs and three walks in six innings.

Kelly Ramos delivered the decisive hit for MONTEPASCHI in the bottom of the ninth to lead his team to a 4-3 win. Davide Dallospedale and Jairo Ramos (homerun in the third) scored on the double into right field.

Yovany D’Amico allowed six hits, three runs and a walk in seven innings, while striking out eight. Buddy Bengel pitched just four innings in his start for RIMINI. He gave up eight hits, two runs and a base on balls. Leonardo D’Amico received the victory, Chris Di Roma the loss.

Another game, another walk off victory for GROSSETO. This time Raul Marval was the hero with a RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. They had tied the game through a two-run triple by Jorge Nunez a few minutes before.

Overall it was a wild match with several lead changes. RIMINI had a two-run advantage after seven innings, but blew it. Kelly Ramos (GRO) had four hits and three RBI. Jairo Ramos (GRO) reached base five times, scored twice and drove in two. Amaury Garcia (RIM) was three-for-five with a homerun and four RBI. Clinton Balgera, Luigi Carrozza and Leo Serafin de Camargo each scored twice for TELEMARKET.

With a combined 29 hits and 21 runs it was obviously not a good contest for the pitchers. Sandy Patrone got the start for RIMINI and allowed six hits, five runs and four bb in four-plus innings. Andrea Lucati started for MONTEPASCHI and allowed four hits, four runs and three walks in four innings. He struck out eight. The regular outfielder Lorenzo Avagnina received the win for his rocky ninth relief inning, when he loaded the bases, but came away unharmed. Ilo Bartolucci took the loss.

After rain postponed the game on Thursday, PARMA and GODO met too for a doubleheader on Saturday. In the first game CARIPARMA used a six-run sixth to decide the outcome. Alessandro Fanfoni drove in three runs. Michele Gerali scored three times. Adolfo Gomez had three hits and two RBI.

Michael Jared Natale pitched eight innings, in which he allowed one unearned run on three hits and two walks. Matteo Galeotti took the loss after five-plus innings, four hits, four runs and three bb.

DE ANGELIS out-hit PARMA in the second game 12-7, but lost again. The guests scored the winning run in the eighth on a double play groundball by Pascual Matos. Leonardo Zileri was four-for-four with two runs. Kyle Messineo had three hits, including a solo homerun, for GODO.

Flippo Mori relieved PARMA starter Stefano Bazzarini after 3 1/3 innings and stayed on the mound until the eighth, to receive the win. Lino Luciani gave up five hits, two runs (1 ER) and two bb in seven innings, while striking out seven. Daniele Del Bianco gave up the decisive run.

SAN MARINO turned a fast lead by the RANGERS into an own two-run advantage in the first period and put the game out of reach in the third. Martin Vazquez had four hits in five at bats. Massimiliano De Biase and Dean Rovinelli each drove in three. David Sheldon scored three runs.

Mattew Marrone gave up a run on three hits in five innings for the win. Diego Zorzenon allowed four hits, six runs (5 ER) and two walks in two-plus innings.

s double down the left field line drove in three SAN MARINO runners and gave them a 3-1 lead. They added a pair of insurance runs and completed the sweep against the RANGERS. They had rallied in the end, but it was too little too late.

Matteo Tonellato pitched five solid innings for the win. He allowed three hits, a run and three walks in five innings. Andrea Cossar took the loss after five innings, five hits, four runs (3 ER) and five bb.
