After losing to Cuba 10-0 on Sunday, the Dutch National Team suffered a second loss on their exhibition tour in South Korea a day later. The home team, also an Olympics participant, used a five-run third en route to a 10-2 victory. Yurendell De Caster had two of the eight Netherlands hits. He and pinch hitter Tjerk Smeets scored the two runs for the lone European team in Beijing.
Rob Cordemans started with two scoreless innings into his start, but lost his rhythm in the third, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings, striking out three. Diegomar Markwell (3 IP) and Michiel Van Kampen (1.1 IP) also appeared in the game for the Dutch. South Korean starter Jun-Song Seung struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on five hits and a base on balls.
Before Holland travels to China, they are facing the Doosan Bears for another warm-up today. It is the second time they will meet each other, as the Dutch no-hit the Bears last week in the exhibition opener.
