Manager Robert Eenhoorn had to make a final change on his Olympic roster of the Dutch National Team. Outfielder Roger Bernadina decided to stay with the Washington Nationals organization in August to help the triple A team Columbus Clippers, as they are already missing Shairon Martis and Yurendell De Caster on the roster due to the Olympics. He also hopes for another stint in the big leagues.
The Netherlands Baseball Federation announced yesterday evening that DOOR NEPTUNUS outfielder Martijn Meeuwis replaces Bernadina on the final roster for Beijing. He is currently batting .340 in the Hoofdklasse with 14 runs scored and 18 RBI, mainly sitting behind the plate and calling the pitches. However with the national team he is going to play the outfield.
