MLB Affiliated Players approved for participation in European Championship

The European Championship 2014, 12-21 September in Regensburg/Ostrava/Trebic & Brno is approved by Major League Baseball for the use of professional players under contract of their MLB organisations.

Many of the National Federations participating in the Euro 2014 aplied for their professional players and more than 90 percent are meanwhile confirmed to be released for the tournament.

To facilitate and give more time for the discussions with players and owners the C.E.B. increased the number of players on the P.T.R. ( Provisional Team Roster) had been increased from 40 to 60 players. The C.E.B. Technical Commission is meanwhile also in close contact with the L.O.C.’s to improve the field maintenance and to prepare everything according the requirements of MLB for the safety of the players on and off the field.

C.E.B. is now looking forward to the rapidly approaching European Championship 2014 with the highest participation number of European professional players which we have never seen before.

The European Championship will be played from September 12 to 21 in Germany and the Czech Republic. Regensburg (Germany) and Ostrava (Czech Republic) will host games of the first round. The final round and the classification games will be played in Brno, Trebic and Blansko (all three Czech Republic).
