German right-hander Markus Solbach has found a new home. The 24-year-old has signed with the Rockland Boulders of the Canadian American Association, an independent league in North America. Rockland celebrated opening day and Solbach pitched eight innings, allowing an earned run while striking out eight.
Solbach, who is entering his second stint in independent league ball, got released by the Arizona Diamondbacks at the end of Spring Training. A surprise move after the general expectations saw him in Double-A this year.
