Markus Solbach to play in Australia during European Winter

Pitcher/third baseman Markus Solbach of the German Baseball-Bundesliga club Pulheim Gophers follows the path of other players and is going to spend the European winter playing Baseball in Australia. The 19-year-old has joined the Mulgrave Rebels, which are in Division II of the Baseball Victoria program. Solbach had a 5-8 record with an ERA of 3.78 in 14 starts during the regular season in 2010. He struck out 58 batters in 100 innings, while walking 42. He also had a .217 batting average (OBP .283/SLG .273) in 60 at-bats.
