German right-hander Markus Solbach is back in affiliated minor league ball. About 12 months after his release from the Minnesota Twins organization, the 23-year-old has signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He will be the second German player with the club after Maik Ehmcke signed last year and will start his professional career this summer. Solbach was pitching for the Frontier League based Windy City since the end of his Twins adventure. This year he had an ERA of 0.85 in three starts. There are currently eight German players with MLB organizations including Donald Lutz (MLB/Cincinnati Reds) and Kai Gronauer (Triple-A/New York Mets).
